1. Introduction
Welcome to Metaxy ("App", "we", "us", or "our"). Metaxy is a dating platform that connects users based on profiles without photos or in-app chat. Matches lead to real-life dates arranged through our venue partners.
By creating an account or using Metaxy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Metaxy.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Malaysian law.
- By using Metaxy, you confirm that you are not a convicted sex offender and have no restraining orders related to harassment or violence.
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration, including your name, age, location, and other profile details.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
4. How Metaxy Works
- No photos are shown before a mutual match is confirmed and a date is arranged.
- No in-app chat – all communication happens through structured preference selection (time slots, location areas).
- After mutual interest, both users select at least 5 out of 7 generated time slots and at least 2 location areas.
- Our system (or admin) coordinates with partner venues to book a date. Once confirmed, the exact venue, date, and time are revealed to both users.
- All dates are arranged through our platform; we do not guarantee availability of any specific venue.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
- Metaxy offers free (limited) and paid subscriptions (Plus and Premium). Details are shown in the App.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store – their terms and refund policies apply.
- We reserve the right to change subscription fees at any time. Changes will be notified in advance.
6. User Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Use Metaxy for any illegal purpose or to harass, threaten, or harm others.
- Create fake profiles, impersonate another person, or provide false information.
- Attempt to extract other users' personal contact information before a confirmed date.
- No-show or repeatedly cancel confirmed dates (excessive cancellations may lead to account suspension).
- Post or share any offensive, obscene, or discriminatory content (profile text, image selections, etc.).
Violation may result in immediate termination of your account without refund.
7. Cancellations and No-Shows
- You may cancel a pending match at any time without penalty.
- Once a date is confirmed (time and venue fixed), cancellations count toward your monthly limit (max 3 cancellations per month).
- If a user cancels or no-shows repeatedly, we may permanently ban the account.
8. Venue Coordination and Liability
- Metaxy partners with third-party venues. We do not own or operate these venues.
- We strive to arrange dates at suitable locations, but we are not responsible for the quality, safety, or services provided by any venue.
- You attend any date at your own risk. Metaxy is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from a date.
9. Ratings and Reviews
- After a confirmed date, users may rate each other on punctuality, conversation, respect, overall vibe, and willingness to meet again.
- Ratings are anonymous and aggregated. Premium users can see their own detailed ratings.
- We reserve the right to remove fraudulent or abusive reviews.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via App settings. After termination, any pending matches will be cancelled.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, Metaxy and its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or any date arranged through it.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
